2015-2017: Université Jean Monnet - IUT Mesures Physiques
Course domains: Physico-Chemistry - Spectroscopy - Material Science.
Generally speaking, the IUTs (Institut Universitaire de Technologie) allow the preparation of a two-year undergraduate technical diploma called a diplôme universitaire de technologie or DUT. The IUT Mesures Physiques is related to the Université Jean-Monnet and provides a multidisciplinary formation to students oriented to company needs for specialized technicians. In this institute, I was involved in the following courses.
1) ~10h of lectures in spectroscopy, including: IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, Mass spectrometry.
2) ~50h of directed studies, including: Chromatography, Spectroscopy, Material Science.
3) ~150h of Practical Works in Physico-Chemistry, including: A. Chromatography: Gas chromatograhy, High performance liquid chromatography. B. Electrochemistry: Polarography, Intensity-potential curves, Karl Fisher titration. C. Spectroscopy: IR and UV-Vis Spectroscopy, Atomic emission and absorption spectroscopy.
4) ~100h of Practical Works in Material Science, including: A. Non-destructive testing: Thermal imaging camera, Eddy currents, Magnetic particle inspection. B. Surface analysis: Scanning Electron Microscopy, Profilometer. C. Material properties and identification: Vickers hardness tester, Tribometer, Testing machine, Attenuated total reflectance.
